The format is nice, however there's a big increase in "noise" having all the automated "Aggregator" feeds show up when one clicks on "View New Posts" or "View Today's Active Threads."

Ideally those would appear separately (for those who actively go into that subforum), or they could appear in a sidebar. When only human member-generated posts would appear in "new" posts, it's actually reflecting what the real activity of the board is, rather than "external" news (which many of us already get via Google Reader, etc.).

Also, the View New/Today's Posts/Threads search results seems to be formatted strangely (i.e. by subforum, and then chonologically). Strictly reverse chronologically is far better.

The server clock (time/date) appears to be wrong, too (I have the correct timezone in my user settings, but it's off by 13 hours).

Legacy incoming links to DomainState are broken (and the error page is simply blank; should be more informative). e.g. the thread about the proposed ICANN "Expedited Transfer Reverse" policy used to be at:

but it's not automatically redirecting to the new:

http://www.domainstate.com/industry-...ol-105796.html

The "105796" is still there. Just a matter of creating relevant rewrite rules, etc. in .htaccess.

We did allow for the redirects. But the redirect scripts broke when we went live. I have fixed the bug now. Thanks

Email notices for updated threads don't seem to be quite right

That information isn't really needed anyway and is just wasted screen real estate.

The column heading has Replies/Views in it so all that is needed is the numbers themselves rather than duplicating Replies: Views: for each thread entry.


On a more general note for the index pages.

While the link colours are better than another well known forum the size of the text for the incidental/secondary info such as

"Started by GeorgeK, 05-29-2010 08:11 AM"

is too large for the weight of information it conveys in comparison to size of font for the link title [No disrespect to George ]

This makes speed reading the forum far more difficult (and why at the other forums I just use the RSS feed instead of browsing the forum itself.

The size of the envelope icons and the two lines per thread entry makes the page much longer and therefore much more scrolling is needed. This isn't really a problem for low volume of posting but it doesn't scale if the forum becomes popular. For example if there are a lot of sales threads many people only notice the most recent ones before giving up browsing.

When going to all prior posts search of a member the links are all "the webpage can nor be found" errors.

Hopefully the old posts have not been wiped out durng the upgrade!

Also, when making a new post in a thread the new post does not go to the top as it should, but stays where is was positioned before the latest post, when clicking on View New Posts.

I Like the new look for the Domain State, I especially like the way that each post is numbered now, it makes it easier to refer to earlier posts now that they are all numbered. I haven’t noticed any major bugs, but I was wondering if it might be better to separate General domain discussions from Casual Chat, it seems to me that these are two totally different categories.

..by the way..what is the limit for messages? i deleted more than 10 from "inbox" and "sent" and it still says "you can not sent a message,its full"..
