Why my domains don't show up at Sedo.

I have listed some of my domains at Sedo for the past few months now without using the parking, but I have just noticed that when I do an advance search for domains that begin with the corresponding keywords a lot of my domains don’t even show up in the results. For example when I do a search for domains that begin with “ BeverlyHills “ none of my Beverly Hills domains listed below show up (as of this posting), so how do I know if end-users can actually see all the domains that I have listed at Sedo when they do a search. Maybe that explains why I haven’t been getting any offers through Sedo lately.

Same with me some names show up some dont, really no rhyme or reason that I can figure, also looking at the length of your names isnt it frustrating that in half the sedo functions you cant see the whole name

Double check they are " listed for sale " and if so simply email support.

I have a lot of long tail domains, I believe that 3 or 4 word domains are good as long as the sequence of the keywords is logical and that it focuses on something that people might become interested in once they see it, but the key point here is that end-users have to be able to see the domains in full on the search results otherwise we are not getting the full benefit of listing them. IMO

If I do a search for each domain separately I can see that they are listed for sale, but when I do an advance search with these criteria:

    Selecting: BeverlyHills as the keyword
    Selecting: .com as the extension
    Selecting: begins (with BeverlyHills)
    Selecting: exclude hyphens and numerals
    Selecting: sort alphabetically
    Selecting: display 100
And leaving the rest of the selections as they were

I don’t see most of the Beverly Hills domains that I have listed at Sedo, so in another words I am being deprived of the opportunity of these domains being selected by an end-user when they are searching for related keywords since they can’t see them in their search results. I am interested to know if many others are having the same problem or if it’s just my domains. If it’s happening to others too then Sedo needs to respond to this thread here and address this problem.

PS: when I did an advanced search just now (according to the above criteria) these three are the only ones that showed up in the search results (they didn't before when I made my original post):

    BeverlyHillsArts.com
    BeverlyHillsFun.com
    BeverlyHillsRVs.com

I'm sure it's not just your domains.

In my experience Sedo search is often worthless, it seems to be hit or miss at best.

Basically I gave up due to frustration.

Well I am glad that it’s not just my domains, but nevertheless I still want the end-users to be able to see my domains in the results when the search for related keywords, and as I said before I wish they would fix it so that the long tail domains show in full and are not always cut off in the middle. IMO

PS: I like Sedo, but I am wondering why I am not getting any offers with all the domains that I have listed there.

As many here have said before, domains have to sell themselves.

Listing them on Sedo (or anywhere) is no magic bullet.

It's also a numbers game, and you really need to have patience.

But if an enduser truly wants YOUR domain, they will find it, and it doesn't matter how good or how bad a listing service is.

Right now there really aren't that many buyers out there.

You are right, the top tier domains sell themselves and it’s usually the buyers who are after you so even if you don’t advertise them for sale you are still going to get frequent offers, but for regular domains it’s usually the other way around. It seems that when it comes to ordinary domains most buyers don’t have their mind set on a specific domain and they might become interested in other related domains if they saw them and that is why it’s so important to me that the end-users be able to see my domains when they search for corresponding keywords because end-users usually consider several related domains before narrowing down their choice to one and if my domains don’t show up in their search results then that means that those won’t make it on their short list. I don’t know how to explain this any better, imagine if you went to Ebay and half of the listings didn’t show up when you searched for a certain keyword or that the titles got cut in the middle like it happens for long tail domains at Sedo, I mean we wouldn’t accept that so easily. IMO

PS: as you said there might not be as many buyers right now, and that’s why I need Sedo to improve the chances of my domains being seen by those who might be searching for related keywords.

I've my names listed at Sedo for years now and after reading this post checked out their search status to find out that none of them shows up on their Advanced Search function; for instance, when I specify the criteria as (cities, .info, price $1-10K, no hyphens or #s, and leave the rest at "All") none of my 50+ names show up.......so much for their search functionality...even my unprofessionally and poorly maintained website can do a better job than that...!!

As I said before I like Sedo and I believe that they provide a good service for domainers, I just want to make sure that I am not missing out on potential buyers when it comes to my domains showing up when they do a search for corresponding keywords. I use several other venues to list my domains and I believe that the most important factor in selling domains is for the buyers to be able to see them easily.

    My recommendations:

Improve your internal database search system so buyers can see all the related domains when they do a search.

Make sure that longer domain names are not cut in half , you should make it so that the long tail domains show in full and preferably with each keyword capitalized.

Put the “ For Sale “ sign up on top of the page so that it can be seen easier.

If anyone else has any constructive opinions or recommendations please add them to this thread, hopefully Sedo will address our concerns soon.

    Here's an additional warning:

Don't rely on Sedo's "Watch Auction" notification feature.

I set the "reminder" to 4 hours before auction end. Instead I got an email "reminder" about 2 hours AFTER the auctions had ended.

    Lame, lame, just plain lame.

I have been hoping to get a response from one of the Sedo reps here to the concerns that I have raised about my listings not showing up in Sedo’s internal search results, as I have mentioned before I like Sedo and I am looking forward to getting offers through their system, but I think that potential buyers who visit Sedo’s website have to be able to see my domains when searching the Sedo’s database if I am going to have any chances of getting an offer from them. IMO
