Not a surprise. Probably a high price in this market. There will never be an enduser buyer for this one.

If folks recall, flowers.mobi was listed on Fusu.com:

    http://www.fusu.com/domains/flowers....wers.mobi.html

where it has a "market cap" of $250,000. (he sold 25K shares of it for $1). There might be an issue with their rules, though, which state:

    http://www.fusu.com/fusu-regulations...-overview.html

If the domain sale price is less than 150% of the current market value, you are required to get approval from at least 90% of the shareholders.
Did he get that approval? If not, it'll be interesting to see what happens to those flowers.mobi shareholders on Fusu now....

I think most people were expecting higher (from both sides of the fence - like low 5 figures).

Personally I think this will spark a new round of lower valuations for .mobi names. In the past the discussion used to be about how the best names had fallen 90% (about a year ago) obviously it is far worse now. I think Rick is probably make the right move just to sell out (assuming he will sell the others he bought), you can't always win.

If .mobi was ever had a chance of becoming a major extension for mobile sites that time is now long gone.

Flowers.mobi did this not get sold for $200.000 a couple years back.

If the market cap is $250K and he sold for $25K then Rick had exactly 90% left. Hence no problem to sell.

He had actually sold something like 25,004 shares, so he had slightly less than the 90%, unless he repurchased or got the agreement of a handful of shares to get to the 90% level.

Looks like you were wrong, again. He didn't sell out. He still owns .mobi names.

That's okay, you covered yourself by spewing an ever-proven cliche, "... you can't always win." Of course no one always wins.
