I very much appreciate you sharing this analysis. Definite food for thought for all those whose domain strategy includes a lot of fresh regs...particularly newbies.
i wasn't planning to... but for some reason I just wanted to see at least a small sample. Now, I am curious... hopefully will run a much larger set later

Once again, Kohashi, I have to say, great work!

I read your blog post on this analysis that you kindly PM'd me, and I hope you start a new thread linking to your blog post. This analysis definitely deserves its own discussion!

Looks like 1994-1998 is the "Age of Domainlightenment" based on those charts. Very interesting.

Might be interesting to see how long they were held prior to the first/big sale. I would have to guess that the current avg length of ownership is a fraction of what it used to be.

When were the big sales? Is there a chart like the one you show that shows those transactions?

Also, wonder how many of those big sales are the same domain just a few years later?

No need to do the analysis. This is not a request, simply philosophical questions.

hehe funny but true domain name speculation is generally accused of being cybersquatting. Cybersquatting is registering a domain name, inviting traffic to it and using it with the intention of gaining profit from someone else's trademark.
