Maybe I'm being overly defensive but we have put a lot of work into this project and secured the cooperation of the key sales venues in the industry to produce that report every 7 days. I don't like having that work "lifted" without proper attribution or insinuations made that we are missing something that we are not.

I'm sorry if you feel your site was the only source for my posts on recent .info sales and I lifted the infomation inappropiately.
The two names I mentioned that were sold and not listed on your site were
basel.info $3100 sedo
faq.info $1000 sedo
It was not my intention to say you had an incomplete list but to illustrate I had not just lifted your list in reponse to generics' comments.
My intention was to create a single thread of all .info sales over $1000. My aim also has been to provide news posts as I travel the net to try and repay some of the invaluable infomation I have learned from domainstate for free. I do not post news i find to other domain forums.
DNJournal is fine site a lot of work has gone into it and it shows.
The last thing I wanted to do was upset anyone I will not make any further posts. Sorry!
With regards, generics' comments, I have yet to see a useful post from you, though I might add you do generate a lot of extraneous noise on the posts you comment on!

I'm not upset gpmgroup and I certainly wouldn't want you to stop posting. As you noted your intentions were honorable. Stick around, it won't take you long to catch me in a slipup you can call me out on!
Just for the record, we did not have Basel.info because that sale happened back in August (our column started in October and we only report the previous 7 days). I don't recall having FAQ.info which is odd because it was at Sedo and they give us all of their sales each week. They may have inadvertently left that one off their report. I see the WhoIs changed Dec. 2 so they normally would have told us about it at that time.
If anyone wants to quote material from our site I have no problem with that - I just appreciate having the information that is used attributed to the source it came from. I guess this issue was at the front of my mind because someone on another forum got in trouble this week for lifting whole pages of material verbatim from a site and posting it on the forum as his own. The original author happened to see it and let everyone know about it. I thought it might be a good time to put this issue in front of people just as a gentle reminder.

Nothing at all wrong with that of course. It just helps to know where the news is coming from, for several reasons.
Aside from acknowledging someone else's work, it allows the reader to decide whether or not the info is coming from a source that is credible. For example if you post that "Martians Have Landed" - according to the National Enquirer, I wouldn't get real excited about that. But if you post "Martians Have Landed" - according to the New York Times, then I might want to look into it a little further.

Sorry gpm. No offense intended.
best wishes

That's much better.

Every cloud has a silver lining. This minor issue allowed me to get to know gpmgroup better via PM. Paul is an honorable guy, a major fan of this forum and a dedicated .info investor. Everything is cool. We're all on the same side trying to help each other make some headway in this business. I appreciate the continual support of good friends like Generic, ILikeInfo and JuniperPark as well. The jury is still out on Mole.
(just kidding - Mole rocks...or at least wiggles a little bit...space is quite cramped in those mole tunnels!)

I just came back from a trip and our internet access is down at home so my access is limited here for a couple days. I sincerely hope that none of the old friends who seem to have gotten into some off kilter exchanges in this thread take any lasting offense from it... life is too short and exchanges too precious for that. I am begining to wonder whether there is something odd in the air or the water or moon phase or something during the past couple weeks that has been affected forum exchanges adversely. *sigh* If a couple of you would like me to edit out some things that you said for the sake of peace and brotherhood, I would be willing to do so... if OK with those involved. Or... apart from that, perhaps I may just enter a plea for an extra measure of tolerance, forgiveness, and good humor as we enter 2004.
In any event, best wishes for a great 2004 to Duke, Generic, GPMgroup, Mole, JuniperPark, Speculator and all the other blokes and lassies who intersect in the virtual twister we call DomainState

Domey can feel free to take that post out and these followups that refer to it. I do hope you had a designated driver in your group last night though Generic!
