You'll need to determine what's most important for your needs.

Are you concerned only about price? Is a high (or at least acceptable!) level of customer service important? Good domain management tools? Personally, I like a registrar that is transparent when it comes to pricing and policies, and doesn't constantly try to up-sell you, even if that means paying a little more for domain registrations. It's worth it, imo.

I'd say read through forums - there's lots of opinions out there

Agree with "Dynadot" on the transparent prices. I do not think there will be a 'best' registrar but for me I think a good customer service should count. I will place most of the domains in a registrar who will be able to provide qualified service. And I will keep an eye on the price as well. If there are good discounts, I do not mind getting more than one registrars.

I think there's no guy called "the best". It depends on each user's experiences. However there're many registrars in domain industry that you can rely on such as Godaddy, Namecheap, NameSilo, Name, Domain .com,...IMO
