    Angry Is eNom serving popunders for its webhosting service??

    I've normally got 3 popup blockers working all at once when I surf the Internet : Google toolbar, Popupstop and Norton Internet security.

    When I publish, I often switch off the last two because sometimes it can disrupt my connections to my host.

    Today I was publishing to one of 3 webhosted accounts I have with eNom. Went to preview my eNom hosted site and wham, a popunder was blocked by Google. It suddenly struck me that the last time I was publishing on my site http://www.wlsquack.com the same thing happened, multiple times over the coarse of a few days I was playing with that hosting.

    This has never happened to me before and I am a fan of eNom, so you can imagine I am very disappointed at how sneaky eNom is with its hosting. It may be $9 a month, but that does NOT give them the right to ride on my traffic for free. My visitors could blame me for being a scum to serve popunders.

    I hope I am wrong, but I don't think so.

    Moral of the story :- Get REAL hosting from the pros.

    I visited your site www.wlsquack.com and received no pop's of any sort.

    I do not use any blocking software and run very vanella / older IE versions, prefering instead to refresh my c drive with a host image after browser attacks.

    hmm, maybe I was wrong. Would eNom like to comment? Does anyone have a working email to contact eNom about such matters? Thanks.

    The source of the popunder feeds appear to be coming from zedo.com. I can confirm definitively that it stems from eNom hosting. Only problem is, eNom doesn't have an email address you can feedback to.

    Angry

    Just got this today. I'm taking out my eNom hosting for good.

    Hello ______,

    Thank you for advertising with Google AdWords. After reviewing your
    account, I have found that one or more of your ads or keywords does not
    meet our guidelines. The results are outlined in the report below.

    ----------------------------------------------
    Campaign: 'Campaign #2,' Ad Group: '________'
    ----------------------------------------------

    AD TEXT:

    ---------------
    ---------------
    ---------------

    Action taken: Suspended - Pending Revision
    Issue(s): Pop-Up
    ~~~~~~~~~
    ---------------------
    Please read below for definitions of the issues I found:
    Pop-Up: Our Editorial Guidelines state that we do not allow links that
    generate pop-ups when users enter or leave your site. We consider a
    pop-up to be any window, regardless of size or content, that opens in
    addition to the original window. Our experience is that pop-ups
    decrease the efficiency of the information seeking process and
    discourage users from clicking on ads. Once you remove the pop-up from
    your site, please reply to this email to request review.
    ---------------------
    If a keyword has been disapproved, your ad(s) will no longer be
    displayed for searches on this keyword.
    If an ad has been suspended, please edit it based on our suggestions,
    and then save your changes to automatically resubmit the ad for review.
    We're confident that these changes will improve your ad performance and
    increase your return on investment.
    Our goal is to help you reach your target audience and maximize your
    investment. All ads are reviewed by AdWords Specialists to ensure that
    our advertisers create successful, high-impact advertising in keeping
    with our program's Editorial Guidelines.
    For more information about our ad requirements, please read the AdWords
    Editorial Guidelines at:
    https://adwords.google.com/select/guidelines.html
    Please feel free to email us at adwords-support@google.com if you have
    any further questions or concerns. We look forward to providing you
    with the most effective advertising available.
    Sincerely,
    The Google AdWords Team
    This was posted at another forum.
    "In case you hadn't noticed, eNom is now placing popups on domains that they are forwarding. Please register your complaints with them if it bothers you as much as it does me.
    I had it confirmed by eNom's support department and by a programmer who works for eNom."
    So, URL forwarding is the culprit. I think any traffic - forwarding or hosting, is now at risk!! I got my domain banned from Google because of this.
    What is eNom coming to???
    I encourage eNom resellers and anyone using eNoms nameservers for redirection to express their concerns to eNom. Hopefully they will realize that implementing this was a bad move.
    Edited to note that it looks this is isolated to frame redirects. Also, once you have the cookie from the pop-up server you won't get another until the cookie is cleared.
    I just looked at a few of my forwarders, I didn't experience and pop-ups.
    But I use that A thingy mostly.
    If I start seeing popups on my domains, I think that will be the last straw, and I will be moving.
    I just discovered how to stop the "sloooooow" popup syndrome on my PC, so pop-ups aren't driving me as nutty. This sounds like an awful move for eNom to do though. Really shows they're being SQUEEZED financially.
    I use cname and ord url redirection and haven't seen it either, though sometimes popups will only load for people in certain countries.
    Though I really don't trust enom much, I am planning on stopping using them for dns soon.
    Was confirmed to me by Enom after I sent them a venomous email telling them if true I will move all my personal and company domains as well as remove my reseller site which has sold thousands of domains and try to get as many of my customers as I can to move their domains away also.
    I can't believe they are doing this.
    Hello Rick,
    Yes, we have begun advertising in our Redirector. What is your login id and I will have them removed?
    Thanks,
    I gave them all of my accounts - 6 of them - and also told them to remove them from all my subaccounts at my www.domaincheap.com site - which is hundreds of accounts. I'm sure they will have fun doing all those.
    Frankly, I am extremely pissed off about this!
    ..... I guess this is why one of my domain's whois is screwed up to the point that it's non-transferable (Afilias is now involved with this one after enom closed the case saying the problem was fixed even though they did *NOTHING*).
