Ok, first off here is my site:

Now that you know where it is, here is my question. I have installed Mods on there for "pretty links", have setup META tags, have some content, though the forum is still new and is growing in members slowly (always lookin for more .. ) Anyhow, what else can I be doing to help with getting my domain to show up on Google's search result under the specific keywords:

Domain Appraisal
Domain Appraisal Forum

real seo isn't done within a 'script' which all forums are

so I would separate the front door from the scripted stuff

then put high end content google wants (hd video by known youtube producer, they bought youtube for 5B)

do good seo on front door

then it's not that relevant about seo inside, since the front door is what needs to bang, look for domain forums, you see, the front doors bang

what people post about can get traffic inside, but the members are gonna come from serp's for 'domain forum' 'domain forums'

I'd try to get a keyword like domainforums.com/net/org/us/biz/mobi

with our without hyphens

then rebrand yourself as domainforums.???TM

also there's other dom names you can do seo keyword with to funnel the traffic

you get a good term like domaining, or domainer, or books on domains, or domainbooks and seo keywords all leading people to the keyword you get

yeah people have done initials and due to being the first one in, they're the biggest now

but new people look every day, so get some good keywords

then send it all to an exact match keyword

but you should try to develop the best keyword you can get

a keyword .com/net could get a lot of traffic from SEs

but you need a lot of keywords all leading to the best domainforum(s) you can afford

I think that OP is on right direction, promoting on related sites is the best way to increase PR and traffic

Google wants to see other high quality sites linking back to you.

So sites with a relevance to what it is your site is about is a great place to get links from.

How would you go about getting links from them?

Do a search in google for the nature of site your promoting and then add the word blog - this should bring up an abundance of blogs in relation to what your site is about.

Leave a comment on that blog after reading the article, try to show value in your blog comment - you should leave a anchor text of the main keyword it is your website is trying to rank for and then add your website link.

Article Submissions

Write an article on something people would definetely search for with relevance to your blog. Your main aim is to give away a abundance of good information in the article.

Or make the article a two part article whereby they can read the rest of the article on your blog.

Video Marketing

Register to Youtube and add your website appropriately, with the rest of the required information that it asks for.

Then go on to upload high quality videos that you know are needed in relation to the service you provide on your website and this is a very powerful way of increasing links.
