Filezilla is a popular free client:

I used to use cuteftp when I used windows, but they're charging for that now.
When using google for counts - use double quotes for usage counts for multiword terms and set "match type" to "exact" for all search volume lookups. Click here for more info

I was using SmartFTP, but they too have started charging and I was looking for another option; Filezilla came-up, so I appreciate the input.
    Thanks!

As a quick but not reliable I use Total Commander. Normally i use SFTP because it's safe and secure.

Ive used CUTEftp for around a decade, however as safey says you have to pay for it. Plus if you dont get free upgrades, so you have to pay if you want the latest version.

With the result that im still using the version from 10 years ago. It serves my purposes, mind you, but I cant help looking longingly at the new flashy versions whenever im on their site.
There is nothing better than a domain.

    hello,
there are many FTP clients, but FileZilla and SmartFTP Client are two best among all. Me myself used Filizilla and i love using it.

I use FileZilla, but there are several things I don't like about it. I am looking for something else free and good. I used to use SmartFTP, might be worth giving that another try, or WS-FTP.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

A FTP client is a software which uses the FTP protocol to transfer files to and from a remote computer.

FTP is the most widespread transfer protocol used to transfer files from one host to another over the Internet. Basic variant of the protocol is not secure. If you want to transfer files securely, either use secure variant of FTP, the FTPS or use alternative secure protocol, SFTP.
