    Domain Sales Site

I was thinking of setting up a site something like BuyDomains.com to sell my own domains.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any off the shelf solutions for this sort of thing - if so, please let me know.

there certainly used to be a heap of domain sales scripts - seemed everyone+dog was running one.

a quick google pulls up stuff like:

    http://www.domainerscript.com/
    http://www.smartscript.net/domaintrader/
    http://www.domainportfolio.us/
    http://www.domainsellerpro.com/
When using google for counts - use double quotes for usage counts for multiword terms and set "match type" to "exact" for all search volume lookups. Click here for more info

well that's an good idea to have an website for the domains selling. This will be an nice idea to have. List all the domains in the website along with that place the price with the payment options .

buydomains allow third parties too list domains with them but I am not sure if you could pull just your own names on bydomains to make your own site - but maybe you can.

If you have your names at sedo and I'm pretty sure afternic, you can do it in such a way that it just lists your own domains. Thus you can tie in the big domain brokers for minimal work.

I hear a few people are trying this lazy way.

The problem is without tons of targeted traffic and vast numbers of eyeballs it is quite unlikely the site will attract any sales.

As an example, DS is not necessarily a domain sales site but look at how incredibly rare offers or sales take place here even though DS gets very well targeted quality traffic.

I'm aware of that issue. I'm trying to create a marketing plan for the site as well.

You dont require any script to do this ...

    http://www.getrichslowly.com

I noticed this as a banner ad on DNJ ...

It just goes on and on and on i had to wonder if i would ever get to the actual domain names ...

Interesting find. I can't believe all the work in doing that. Can you imagine the time needed to write relevant content for all those domains!

A problem may be the SE's possibly do not fully index such a long index page but not sure, anyone know? Regardless, I believe it would be better to make a seperate htm page for each domain or pages with the names within categories.

I am about to finish one such site. It is actually finished for the most part and ready for members.

It is true that it will not receive as many eyeballs as Sedo but then there aren't many million domains listed either. I have had 200 domains on Sedo for about 5 months and although the parking is picking up, the sales view for my 200 domains is about 30 for the past 5 months. I think anyone that lists domains on my site will receive better exposure than that.

Also, the intersted parties get to contact sellers directly which is a great big plus.

Atlas if you still are looking for a script I would like to discuss the possibility of some collaboration with you.

Atlas: I have almost completed domain portfolio presentation/selling site using off the shelf script.

Please check my signature link for ImpactDomains.com to see how it looks. There are many templates available besides the one I am using.

I find the script very easy to work with and no problems so far. The site is being developed for almost a week (95% done) except minor tweaking and its #1 in google for (impact domains) out of possible 15 mil entries.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks DNBlogger. Actually, that's the script I was leaning towards.

How easy is the script to customize? Is the script completely unencrypted? How is support?

Good luck with your new site! I see you managed to get a link on their showcase - that's a good start...
