The reason the time limit was reduced was because some of the scammers who visited the site would remove their post content after trying to scam people and we wanted an audit trail so we could take informed action when their scams were suspected/uncovered.
When using google for counts - use double quotes for usage counts for multiword terms and set "match type" to "exact" for all search volume lookups. Click here for more info

I believe the intend of the restriction is to provide a forum site where we all feel safe ..... It's not an invitation for hacking SQL/PHP .....

*MANY* times I've needed an inaccurate post modified because I felt that leaving the error would misslead readers. I PM'd the mods and asked if they would be so kind to make the changes for me. And can you believe what they told me?! They said *YES* every time, imagine that ....

On the flip side please all *DO NOT* take advantage of the mods helpfulness by asking for changes that are not absolutely necessary as it just makes extra work for the mods -- Thanks!

Nobodies perfect, a little error here or there is not big deal, just leave it ......

Thanks for the info. The reason I asked was for the ability to remove sales once over as well as lower prices. Otherwise, no editing is really necessary.

Why would you want to do that? Having the history is nice and I think everyone knows the prices tend to decrease as the size of the thread increases.

When a name is sold it's not really nice for the buyer to have the price he/she paid permanently on record - it may affect future sales.
Additionally when a sales thread has ended it is useful to remove prices or indeed all of the listed names and try again another time.
Mod's have always been helpful in making these changes when requested.

I have noticed several here in addition to you, like to go back and remove the prices and some other details too. I can see no reasoning behind why you guys do that

After all, there is a severe lack of public sales information in the first place, and since the sale took place at this public board why later go back and delete the pricing? Don't understand why you want to do that anyway? Let's continue to not allow late editing of posts.

I think mrwebname sums it up well in his post directly before yours.

mr webname and realnames post at about the same time (time difference 1 second to 119 seconds). realnames might have no chance to see what mr webname had just posted while realnames was composing his message. I suspect that the reason why mr webname delivered his message faster was that he was riding on his bike.

Call me thread-digger but I agree with Mr Webname's reasoning behind this.
