Great news , I believe this claim was rejected before congratulations and thanks to the people that persisted and didn't give up including some Domainstate members...
Was the CFIT site moved? I believe it used to be cfit.info

Can someone "please" put in layman terms what will the court now take a re-look at?

Is it com/net registration/renewal prices or monopoly or perpetual renewal of verisign's com/net contract forever or all or what?

George, where are you?

Thank you,

S s s s sweeeeeeeet! Brilliant! It's about time the cozy little relationship between ICANN and VeriSign gets exposed.

All the time technology has been bringing down costs all they have been doing is jacking up prices and profits.

Go GIT EM! <-Fangs

It's nice to see that it's possible that the .com/net contracts will be put to a tender process. Given the NTIA/DOC/DOJ letter back in December on new gTLDs, I believe that a strong case exists (and have felt so for a long time, obviously):

It's hitting the press now. It'll be interesting to see where VRSN stock is on Monday:

Deborah Garza is back in private practice. She might be a good lawyer to join the CFIT case against VeriSign:

or be a witness.

CFIT (or some other enterprising company) might want to make t-shirts for the upcoming ICANN meeting with a logo for:

VeriSign -- The Value of Anti-Trust

Who's good at Photoshop?

"This suit could have a huge effect on the domain market, since there were credible bidders who said they could run the .COM registry for $3 per name, under half of what VeriSign charges. It is also a huge embarassment for ICANN, since it shows them to be inept, corrupt, or both when managing the .COM domain which, due to its dominance, is the most important thing they do. In the original version of the suit ICANN was a defendant, but they were dropped a few years ago so now they're just an uncomfortable observer. "

Thanks Frank

This is music and rightousness to my ears !!!

I've been quite concerned and outspoken about this issue and related issues for the past couple of years.
-------------------------------------------
http://www.domainstate.com/showthre...ight=incestuous

2) Stop Verisign's existing monopolistic pricing practices & increases on new reg's and renewals. Base prices should be going down and not up (like hosting and web storage costs over the past few years)

3) Put the Kabosh on ICANN's & Verisign's overly incestuous and self-serving relationship.

----------------------------------------------------------------

This news/revelation is brings a sense and spirit of fairness back into the mix !

Warning: Appraisal Scam and Hoax Spam
All domainers should be aware that there is a long running scam in operation where domain owners are contacted by a supposedly interested party who requires them to perform some kind of paid service - usually an appraisal - prior to completion of the sale. This is a scam designed purely and simply to get you to pay for the service. Further details are availabe here.

Note that in the past they have tried to discredit this site and the warning we are giving by sending out fake spam pretending to be from ourselves.

Please Note:
Domainstate.com does not and cannot vouch for the authenticity of any item listed for sale on this site. We advise anyone considering buying a domain name, product or service to ensure the seller has legitimate rights. If unsure on how to do this, please seek legal advice.

If anyone has reasonable grounds to suspect foul play, please notify the moderators/admins at this site with full details.

Advice given on this site is only the opinion of the poster and should not be treated as a replacement for legal or professional advice.

We reserve the right to remove domains that are listed here that we consider - in our sole discretion - to have no legitimate reason for their registration other than to trade off the goodwill of a third party.

If you believe a domain listed for sale at DomainState.com infringes a mark in which you have enforceable rights, please supply details including the mark, the registration number, the register it is held on and any other information that supports your claim for review by the administration.
