    Sedo spas.net deadbeat?

Im not going to play this game with you Sedo.

Spas.net auction ended 9 days ago at $10,000 which was the original bid. These buyers arent stupid, they no the minute they have won. You have a certification process for transactions of this size. Now, this was my first sale on Sedo, and if Sedo is going to allow this kind of abuse it will be my last. Transactions of this size are above average, and should get special attention by sedo account reps. We should not have to call, email, or post on forums to get action. Now, i have received a response from a rep saying I can cancel after five days. Thats fine, but I want the contact info of my buyer so that I can humiliate him in the same manner. My time is valuable to me and chasing him down as well as getting Sedo to act is using it up. I have called your US office today. I hope for your sake they call the buyer immediately as he is apparently in Florida. Now, in my opinion, Sedo should at the end of the five day period, give priority to these and keep the sellers informed DAILY. That means tell me if you called ,emailed etc and if you got a response or not. Im not playing this game where I am chasing Sedo reps and this buyer. Earn your friggen $1000 commission dammit!

See the names listed below? I have 160 listed on Sedo now, and 300 plus more too list. You think if my first sale goes bad I am going to use you again? Now get of your A$$ES or Ill just let Oversee/SnapNames or Afternic do everything.

It is not the norm for a buyer to pay in 5 days in my view, to be honest I'm not completely sure it is the buyer that always causes the delay, when I've bought names from on Sedo in the past acknowledgement of payment was generally slow.

Seems no replies from Sedo to these threads or concerns.

I really feel they no longer care.

Nah. Im done with em. Proved to be a big waste of time. They just want people to sit around and twiddle there thumbs and wait weeks and months for transactions to finish, without any attempt or expense on Sedo part. Basically, they dont want to "earn" their commission. The site is so cluttered with junk, and if you couple that with the lousy service, I would say they have had their best days.

    My message to Sedo:
As far as I am concerned, this transaction is null and void. I have removed 155 names from my portfolio. I will remove the others when the lousy feature rotation I paid for ends. You can delete spas.net for me. I want the deadbeat bidders information, as we had a legal binding contract and I reserve the right to pursue him for breach of contract. Wish I could say nice doing business with you Sedo, but actually, is was quite the opposite. Your hands off approach is lame.

Let's be level headed here, payment has't been received with 13 days of the auction ending, that is really all the beef boils down to. Like I said before I think you should wait longer. Cutting the deal now may well cost you several thousand dollars.

It took my last buyer almost a month to pay i do agree transfer specialist should keep you appraissed of the situation, in my case after 2 weeks i finally got a response from sedo saying the buyer is well established and has bought many names but is slow to pay, which put my mind at rest there does need to be more communication I agree

I did the same thing some time ago--removed all trace of my names. It is such a silly operation on every level.

Nonsense. If it is going to take you a month to pay, dont make the offer/place the bid. We dont buy cars, houses, or pretty much anything else this way, why should it be different with a domain name. The guy obviously had buyers remorse and Sedo pretty much cant do anything about it and certainly wont press the issue other than a please pay communication. If I were Sedo, I would have a credit card on file for these buyers, and hit them immediately for a non refundable fee equal to there commission. They have a legal binding contract no? If they dont do something, this type of abuse will just get worse. Im not the first as I have found out. Sedos system is flawed, and they dont/wont address it. This is a business for me, my time is not free. So no, I will not play this game. It is unprofessional of Sedo and this domainer whomever he may be to think a seller should remain patient considering there has been no communication from the buyer 13 days after the auction. That is just absurd.

This subject has been discussed many times. Sedo has never made it a priority to serve sellers in any way. Thirteen days without payment is simply ridiculous. It won't cost the seller anything to walk away. If the "buyer" is really there, they'll find the owner via the whois and get the deal done.

It hasn't been a month though, it has been 13 days. Could be all sorts of reasons,

-Buyer sending money from a country with a slow banking system (which can take a week)
    -Sedo slow to acknowledge receipt
-Buyer gettting finance to pay for it (add a few weeks)

Like I said it isn't really the norm for Sedo to have got the money in 5 days in my view, especially for a sale of this size.

That is just a guess, personally I have probably a dozen sales where the buyer has taken over 5 days to pay. The only sale I've had fallen over was one that Sedo flagged early on (day after auction ended). In short I've thought the same thing about sales in the past and the money has come through. Not that sales don't fall through though I think it is far more likely that it is delayed rather than over.

This kind of thing is extremley annoying. The worst thing about it is that this kind of crooks are not even banned at Sedo. I have had the "pleasure" of dealingwith such people, both as a buyer and as a seller. See my blog post at Domain contracts at sedo worth nothing

My minor sale @ Sedo fell over with the original bidder failing to pay after i put the name to auction with no further bids I was given a glimpes look at the failed buyers name and address (which is a P.O. Box) there was no contact email address supplied. I requested the buyers email address through the transfer panel but nothing came of that request. I also requested that the bidder be banned from Sedo, dunno if that happened but doudt it ..

Aside all the whinning we do (I am including myself and I) ...
Does anybody has suggestions on how to improve their system?

If I recall correctly the "certification" idea was brought out here at DS (before it was implemmented).

I just had one of those Dead beats:
(bidder was "Cat 4" so I am baffled)

    To the Sedo Rep:

How long are you going to hide and actually address this issue?

    A sedo stakeholder.
