The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. The headline, of course, is Moniker.com reporting that they have brokered the biggest cash deal in domain history. Even without that $9 million plus deal, it was another solid week for the domain market. Every name on our new Top 20 hit at least five figures. The .nets dominated the new Global Contenders chart, taking 14 of 20 positions and .info also had a strong outing with five. It was also a big week for the country codes as we saw one of the year's 6 biggest sales in the ccTLD category. You can read all about it here:

Apparently moniker had revenue figures at the last auction, it would be interesting to find out exactly. I've heard two different figures in terms of the revenue claim back then, $150,000 per month and $2500 per day average (which would be around half the first figure at $75,000 per month).

All of them city/state abreviation names I offered $3,000 each for to the previous owner...he told me they are worth way more...now I see he let them drop.

He sold me a different name though for $5,000 which is worth more of all of those put together.

The human mind never ceases to amaze me...

On the last offer I made him it just doesnt make sense to turn down so much money but I guess hes just some very rich real estate broker and dont really care unless its a massive deal (or just super busy).

But...he did sell me one for 5,000.

I always thought it was a sucky sounding name myself, it seems to have been for sale forever. Having said that the price does still sound low even though it probably doesn't have a lot of obvious usage and is difficult to spell.
