Typo or not typo? A bit confused URGENT
Hello gents,
I need your opinions on something. I just placed a bid on Sedo on a domain, let's call it "abcde.es". Now abcde is actually a word that fits perfectly to what I want to do - but i just saw, after the fact that theres another company called abcdek.es (the k not being the plural, it seems to be just an extension of the actually word to give it a unique name). abcdek.es actually is doing something similar to what you want to do persay.
I don't know if I can still keep the domain or called Sedo and demand my offer to be cancelled due to potential typosquatting. It's funny because one can understand if typosquatting is the actual word mistyped or a "s" added at the end, but would it still be typo squatting if what you've just purchased is an actual word. Really would appreciate a prompt response so I can either decide to keep it going or call Sedo to demand a cancel.
Thank you

Typosquarting
I can identify two major problems there. If you get the domain; you bound to loose or get some traffic from the other typo domain. I do not know which one has more traffic than the other, nor which one is squarting on the other one. Second problem is trademark ownership; though, sedo may not sell such domain, but there is tendency for TM problem to arrise later on. My advise to you is if you are getting the name, you should go and register the TM ownership of the name. Cheers.

thank you much. I am considering to have the domain be a holding company and then having my projects on it. Thank you again.
