BIDO vs BAIDU?
First of all, let me say that I am DEFINITELY a newbie, and I'm just trying to get a feel for trademark issues regarding domain names.
I don't mean to stir up any unwanted problems, but is it possible that people will mispronounce "Bido" as "BYE-DOE", making it seem very similar to "Baidu" which is pronounced "BYE-DO/DUE"? To me, it would have to be spelled "Biddo" to be pronounced the way it is in the youtube sample video...
Could there be a possible TM fight down the future, if "Bido" grows larger? (By the way, Baidu is a huge-mongous search engine in China. Nasdaq ticker: BIDU)
Am I crazy to think this? Has this issue been discussed before? Or is this a non-issue?
forward thinking...

No! you are not alone...
I also think Beano might come after Bido...
(This thread and a few of the lastest appraisals reminded me that I need to get serious on my NPO idea: "Domainer's Mental Health Insutute" , I mean there is even one for "Sicko Parrots" in England)

BAIDU is not english, it is pinyin, and will not be confused with BIDO.
In pinyin, bi is vaguedly sounds like "be", and do sounds like "doe".

Thanks touch,
Was reading an article about Baidu this morning, and then I just happened to click on DNJournal and saw the Bido video.
Sometimes, it's just all about timing. I guess I've been reading too much about KOOKS and PUSSYDELUXE and got a little paranoid! This website can do that you sometimes!
Anyhow, I appreciate your taking the time to explain it to me...
Thanks again.
forward thinking...

BIDO vs BAIDU?
I was just thinking about that. They do sound very similar in Chinese. Baidu is a well known multi billion dollar company. We will see what happens after Baidu finds out there is a website sounds same as theirs and making a lot money.
