    The Future of DomainState.com

As an update, we are now down to the final three approved bidders with no new offers being accepted from other parties. We expect to have a decision in the next few days.

    ---

    Dear Members,

After over 7 years of running Domainstate we have decided to sell the site. It is with a sad heart that we have realised that it is no longer something we can commit the same level of energy as we once did.

Our aim is to have the site sold within the next couple of weeks and we are considering offers now so any interested parties please contact us ASAP at admin@domainstate.com

We'd recommend that anyone with any particularly sensitive information within their private messages take advantage of the archive/delete facility within the private messages section of the user control panel in anticipation of a change of ownership.

We'd like to thank everybody for their contributions to the site over the years and wish everyone well for the future.

    Domainstate Admins

    ---

Added: latest email sent out on the 13th to those who expressed an interest:

We have had a pre auction offer from one of the current 3 part owners of the site (Paul Shaw/Snoopy) at $20,000 USD. We consider the offer to be acceptable in absence of any significantly higher offer. As a result instead of holding an auction we will now be calling for further offers.

Despite the fact that the offer is from a current part owner of the site it is our intention to give careful consideration to all offers that are put on the table. We would like to wrap things up over the next few days.

Please note we have also attached screenshots of Google analytics stats to this email, it is roughly one weeks worth (we did not record stats previous to that)

    Best regards,

    Domainstate admins

Many ..Many thanks for all the years of great advice and free resources.
Some of us "are what we are" in big part due to this community, no to mention a few friendships and business bonds were born here.

Wow, too bad to hear this. I have been here since the very beginning and both learned a lot and simply enjoyed being around here. But I very well understand your decision, I have often wondered where you guys found all the time and energy to run this board.
Hopefully you will still stay around as active members?

And to be honest I am a bit worried about the forum being sold. It's not about the money, you surely deserved a good payout after all the work you put into this, but I am a bit afraid that the atmosphere around here might change considerably if the place is owned by someone who wants to "make his money back". I guess we'll just have to hope for the best (and be there ourselves to help achieve that).

for me, I'll be stepping back from the forum. I think the landscape has changed a great deal over the last few years with the explosion in domain blogs, domain news sites as well as private forums. I think the site needs a change in direction for it to move forward and needs someone with energy and vision to do it. I'll certainly miss it - it has been a massive part of my life in terms of time and emotional energy.

Thanks for running a great board.

    Perhaps someone like Internet Brands:

    or iNET Interactive:

    might be interested.

My thanks as well. While domains are the topic, it's the combination of intelligence, general business knowledge and life experience of members and admins that makes this place stand out.

Having stepped back myself though, I can appreciate your decision. Thanks again and best of luck to all.
