I have experienced checking an obscure name and when I go back it is gone. I have not run into these guys, but rather Kenyatech. Now, if I check it and think I want it, then I get it. There is a leak in the system somehwere.
namedog - Chasing Good Domains & Keeping a Leg Up on the Competition
What about checking a bunch of names that definitely suck. Posting them all here or somewhere else having several unique visits and 1-2 clicks( I know that is not really fair to the advertisers) and then letting the tasters formula keep a hundred worthless domains (they would lose about $1,000 minus the limited revenue from the fake clicks). We could keep doing this until the tasters caught on.
Glad to see this being exposed anyway. In the past when people complained of this, others acted like they were nuts and explained it was nothing more than a coincidence.

Because it sometimes is coincidence. But that doesn't mean it's
that way all the time.
Interesting digging Seltzer made on Chesteron Holdings...
Originally posted by domain Funny, a name I did a search for at a major registrar was registered on the 19th by him. Seems he has access to more than just the Cnet whois.
You mean Seltzer regged the name? Maybe you 2 really thought
about the name, but he got it.

using the Cnet whois service they are allegedly monitoring. Let's see what happens!

Given how convinced I am this happens to me in landrushes I'm not surprised this happened.
In fact I'm glad we now have the proof.
So now I suggest you all think long and hard when you place landrush orders *ESPECIALLY* when you are charged LR fees ... You have even less auditing ability in Landrushes ...
