Maybe so, but since your not the one buying those domains you wont know what the buyer is actually doing, earning, or selling the domain for so how do YOU know the ultimate valuation is less than the price paid?

Gosh, I must be bored today.
Your domains are never completely worthless. They can always be used as a bad example.

Also keep in mind some of the big players are building portofolios "well diversified portoflios" ... the most diversified and most quality traffic (high profile) IMO the most attractive to lurking investors.
This is were the word "vertical' makes a lot of sense.
So they might be paying top dollar for domains that might fit their puzzle and their own particular portfolio, and surely in some instances a little "ego" comes into play ...

thats something often overlooked - taking a domain in isolation may not reveal the motivation for the purchase and the price paid.
When using google for counts - use double quotes for usage counts for multiword terms and set "match type" to "exact" for all search volume lookups. Click here for more info

Yes, and I'm saying refer to what Cranky (altough somewhat pointed) had said: Read up fromt the forums as what what methods are available to "convert traffic" into dollars. I'm saying most folk do their own personal appraisals, and as Safesys is saying the basis of that appraisal is different depending on the intended use. But one of the things I personally keep getting reminded of is the money to be made from some domains is far more than many would ever expect. In fact I ran the numbers on a recent domain sales posting and noticed that the buyer should be getting 30% APR on their purchase ... I'll leave you and others to do the research since this is a bit of a "right of passage" area and thus people are not handing you the information in this thread.

I've seen some really crappy domains .... And then found out later they make a lot of sweet smelling money.

As the old saying goes, don't judge a book by it's cover ... But I to still feel some prices are just nuts! LOL!

Your domain goggles are a little too thick. If someone wants to buy a domain its not crap to them and there is real $$$ involved.

I sell crap domains all year long for hundreds and thousands. Im actually gonna have to start raising prices again since the cost to buy these crap domains is getting more costly.

I can't help myself, but is that what you are saying in your head when you pimp "websitebuild.com" at $20/25k?
