    The move opens a new front in the battle for readership and will be watched closely by the industry
    Their content will need to be extremely good in order to charge, and/or readers very loyal.

    They make an ill-fitting comparison between people paying to download music vs. people paying to access news content. These are not the same dynamic.

    News is an easily obtainable commodity. Good music is not at all easy to create and is a much more refined product.

    Really outstanding journalism is worth the price of admission, but how often does one find that in the larger mass media?

    Hi,

    Yes, that is true but all news is not created equal. I'd rather pay a few dollars and have information from a source I can trust than get it for free and spend hours trying to decide whether it's true or not.
