Live Current Sells Cricket.com
http://domainnamewire.com/2009/08/28...s-cricket-com/
Amazing that last year LiveCurrent said it had turned down a $6M offer for cricket.com.
Agree with Andrew Alleman's subhead to his scoop article:
'Live Current Media ends a sad saga'

$1.75m in installments for cricket.com seems like a nice deal for the buyer.
Only problem for the new owners is the Live Current president came with the domain. They've got to find a way to dump him (and maybe the IPL contract) asap.

Been waiting for the other shoe to drop after the string of sales since keyboard.com, mouse.com, and brazil.com. This past week LIVC's ticker symbol got temporarily changed to LIVCE when they did not file their report on time. They released the numbers yesterday which didn't exactly impress so the writing was on the wall. How could they drop the ball like this given their vast resources and experience? It was a bad deal to begin ($5million/year to IPL?) and it is indeed a very disappointing end to a sad saga.

I wasn't sure if it was April fool's day when I first read the thread given they have focused the company around the cricket stuff.
I wonder what their business plan is now, just running perfume.com? Probably about now would be the right time for management to pack their bags I would think.

severance payments being made by issuing basically an "IOU".... change you can believe in.

LIVC filed a 198-page prospectus yesterday, basically they will continue selling non-essential domain names and continue to seek financing from banks and private investors. It looks a bit of an uphill climb for Live Current, I don't know how long they can continue churning at this rate. When they launched Karate.com last year, it sounded very promising, but from the looks of things, it seems it is still trying to gain some traction. Anyway, the filing can be found here:

They must be getting low on domains to sell to now be raising capital.

If they sell perfume.com they'd be lucky to be worth more than a couple hundred k

I would imagine the clock is ticking pretty fast on this company. Seems they are still losing around 800k/qtr. (note it is only profitable due to 600k profit on domain sales and some settlement money relating to cricket.com). Around $277k gross profit and a million dollars worth of expenses against it.
