Kill President Bush dot Com: Taking Free Speech WAY Too Far!
http://mensnewsdaily.com/archive/r/r...alds101603.htm
"Get your KillPresidentBush.com e-mail address! Now you can impress all your friends with your very own Your_User_Name_Here@KillPresidentBush.com e-mail address. Only $20.00 a year! We will start operating in November so send in your money fast kids! Checks and Money Orders at this time only. Include user name you would like and send to: KillPresidentBush.com, c/o Kevin Lindquist, P.O. Box 915321, Longwood, FL 32791-5321."
Shockingly, the domain name www.killpresidentbush.com (Which I initially thought was a spoof) is actually registered to Lindquist. While the site is not yet in operation (presumably he wants to begin operating in October as he says above) Lindquist was evidently unable to wait to spread his venom.

Probably nothing worse than Bush himself has uttered at various times.

But poisoning someone during a fundraiser? Don't imagine that comes up in casual conversation. Making threats to the life of the President is pretty high on the list of things you can do to royally screw yourself (or "democratically" screw yourself... whichever).

Threatening the President's life whether directly or indirectly is not something to joke around with. Good way to get the wrong attention.

Even a president that feels free to threaten other people's lives?
Why is HE allowed to do it and no one else is?

I'm guessing its a rhetorical question, but to those that honestly don't know... For any one (citizen or not) in the U.S., planning the specific act of assasinating someone in elected office this an actionable and serious crime. In fact, this applies to many other cases as well, but elected officials (senators, key members of the administration, etc) get you more serious consequences as it becomes a matter of national security.
No matter how much personal politics might lend towards ignoring it, this isn't about philosophy or patriotism, its about breaking the law. Arguing/discussing whether or not it should be a protected free speech issue is all fine and good (and about the difference between acts of war and govermental policy versus those acts carried out by civilians), as long as it is clear that currently, as far as the courts and government are concerned, the matter is settled. The aforementioned Mr. Lindquist apparently lives in Florida. Many people in this forum aren't in the U.S. but you don't have to see too many websites being shut down by the FBI to realize that U.S. governmental influence does effect a number of areas (like where websites are hosted).

And after reading this thread, how many of these dangerous people have you indentified? I guess any government could just take out their crystal ball and find out which are legit threats - and which are sick people who have nothing better to do than post in some public forum about the subject.
Hmmmmm......
