Godaddy - What a joke
Parson states
"the way we justify the expenditure is we have 800 competitors. How many can you name?
You can name GoDaddy.com, maybe one or two others. That's as far as it goes."
The above quote is from another thread but, it seems to me that Ol'Bob could do with spending a few Bob on his inhouse processes first - How many services can you name that delete your paid for and receipted domains, Then don't give a damn. Well you can name GoDaddy.com and I reckon No others.
Once again Godaddy has deleted a domain from my account after issuing a confirmation receipt (this time paid a month before renewal) - amazingly (Not) these names then go to their internal auction. And what happens when you complain - Nothing. "oh we sorry about that we don't know how that happened"
After several phone calls and emails their response, well there's nothing we can do about it, the domain(s) have been deleted/transferred, we have issued a refund of your renewal fee.
The first instance I could get over but, to do again is just Sh** service. I've been as polite as possible in all my communications with Godaddy staff, after all it's hardly the person your speaking with at fault. How Bob Parsons has the cheek to praise the profile of his services when it runs like a garden shed operation is beyond me. Your advised to write to the offices of Bod Parsons but, why bother it dosen't make a blind bit of difference. Even when you say you have no option but to transfer your names out - the response is just "sure-OK".
One name is now at NameAdministration and the other has recently appeared on Sedo. I won't post the names, not until I've finished transferring out, but I'll happily send a copy of the confirmation emails/receipts to any of the Mods that want to verify.

Theres no excuse for a company that makes money trading in the aftermarket value of domains to act like a refund of reg fees makes it whole.
When using google for counts - use double quotes for usage counts for multiword terms and set "match type" to "exact" for all search volume lookups. Click here for more info

Ol'Bob, as you call him, could do with some jail time for such hideous practices. I've been saying for years they are crooks, ever since I had to cancel a CC because they refused to stop billing it for services not asked for nor supplied.
Anyone that reads your post and continues to use them must be crazy.

I've really only myself to blame - stayed there far too long. Even their so called 'Executive account service' is nothing more than a superficial sham. You'd do better talking to a brick wall - at least then you might hear an echo..

I could accept if this was errors on new registrations - but, just to be clear we're talking about domain renewals. One name had been in my account and renewed each year for 3 years before GoDaddy apparently decided to ignore their own 3rd year renewal email confirmation and I guess auction, given the subsequent cancellation notice and current registration status with original 2003 date intact

Actually Safe in the last instance they've even refunded me right back to my original registration date. and The "Thank you for being a GoDaddy customer" sign off has made me feel a whole lot better

Bailey, I don't believe a word of it. I think you're stretching the truth because you're upset that you forgot to renew your names. I've been registering and renewing names with Godaddy for years. The only problems I've ever had are the ones I caused for myself.

See this new thread about GoDaddy and the problems they caused one domain owner as reported by News.com:

Still think GoDaddy is great?

Whats this a new spark (coincidential or what for such a professional old hand that you claim to be) - I too have been with Godaddy since day one, and many would have read my earlier (over the years) confident remarks re Godaddy but, things change.

No spark. Just saw your thread after I started mine and since it was about GoDaddy service also, I replied to a remark (which I quoted) from CouchPotatoGal where she claims you were stretching the truth. I was defending you by showing this new thread, which I had previously started, about GoDaddy's practices.
Now I see you weren't referring to me (about the spark). So please ignore my defense of my post above...

My fault woeger (edited in the couchwhoever after) didn't want you to think I was refering to you, My aren't we a polite bunch
Don't you just love these experts that appear out of the woodwork though

Yeah right.
An excerpt from woegers' thread http://www.domainstate.com/showthre...&threadid=73164
All GoDaddy customer should take this as a warning shot about how Bob Parson's company will apparently not be looking out for them and their interests, but rather bowing to companys' requests to deactivate or perhaps even delete domains. Your domains do not appear to be safe at GoDaddy...
Yeah, Bailey is the new Jules Verne.

An interesting 'first post'. Actions like this don't help godaddy one bit.
