So far-so good for Danica Patrick in her NASCAR debut.

She barely avoided a race-ending early crash at the Daytona Nationwide Race....good paint job & prevalent promos on car for domain co GoDaddy.com ... It is is getting a ton of camera coverage and Danica is being discussed much....race is on ESPN2 right now.

Oooops.... she just now had a major fender bender...with a pack of cars that veered & spun off the track onto the center grass....her car now is quite damaged & missing a lot of the body & parts in the front right...looks like it could be ova now for Danica ....bummer !

1) This thread category has many threads over the past few years that are not specifically domain news (the Domain Industry section on DS is more so focused on Domains)....furtheremore there Never has been a domain name & logo for a domain industry company so prominantly displayed in a national sports competition event anywhere in the world ...as far as I can recall. Now, to many, that's domain industry related news.


2) Also.... since the GoDaddy.com company name, logo and DOMAIN NAME were featured so abundantly on TV, Web and in newspapers...as Danica Patrick got about as much coverage in the NEWS as any NASACAR racer this week. She is the top endorser and poster giirl for the world's largest Domain registrar..... Capiche ???

Note: This is not a plug nor detraction for GoDaddy.... just discussing the NEWS !

no, it is not "domain" news and...really.... honestly... it is a bit of a stretch to even consider it "news" at all.

But so far I see no reason to remove it. Let's not get into a pissing match over it, ok?

And, while on the subject... she was on CSI NY the other night too...

It's Domain News alright ... It means Godaddy's market share will expand even further.. NASCAR is the biggest "sport" in the United States..

No Dough...not yet at least -- LOL -- .....just impressed with all the News coverage achieved by her.. and resultingly, PR for the "domain world".... ie: NYTimes, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, Fox News, Los Angeles Times, NBC, ABC, San Franciso Chronicle..etc, etc ....many other News Venues)....much with photos of the logo & domain name of a major Domain Name focused company ... check it out.

Whether they're your favorite domain co. or not...this Definitely gets the topic of and "need" for domain names further into the main stream...then that usually creates demand across the board... and benifits practically the entire "domain industry".

I don't see ANY other registers that doing anything even remotely comparable to increase their domain registrations .

The guy love him or hate knows how to Market his domain registrations and services.

His market IS pretty awesome! Have a look at his video blogs (they include some good looking girls as well as some good information).

Probably the only company that does it better is Apple. Their "accidental" leaks of information on their new products and models really gets people talking...

No problem, It is not doubt that every where she'll go, there she 'll creat her Unique image.

Godaddy has so many things to earn from her participation. So it doesn't really matter if he wins a race or not.
