I would have thought that the only really valid 'appraisal' anyone could give would be the person who actually buys it from you. After all, something is only worth what someone else is willing and able to pay...

Just my opinion, of course, and I realise there are lots of people making a good living appraising domains, but a 'certified appraisal' wouldn't bias my judgement of a domain's value one way or the other. It might bias my opinion of the domain seller, of course.

    I received a scam email

This is the email that I received, beware!

    Hello!

We are interested in purchasing helpmefindmyfamily.com. I found it was for sale on
    Sedo.

Please let me know your price. We are interested in purchasing.

    P. S.
If you have more items for sale please let me know your auction links.

    Best Regards,

    David Sherman

    President

... THEN THEY LATER WENT ON TO SAY THIS AFTER I HAD ADVISED THAT IT HAD BEEN APPRAISED BY SEDO AND OTHER KNOWN SITES

Very good but Sedo appraisal service does not include the trademark infringement verification. So it's not acceptable in our case.

Many experienced sellers suggested me Trademark-Domain-Agency dotcom. They provide the free trademark infringement verification with the appraisal service. They are also doing a much more in depth analysis

    Best Regards,

    David Sherman

.... AFTER I CALLED THEM OUT AND ADVISED I WAS SUSPICIOUS THAT THEY OWNED THE SERVICE, THEY STOPPED ALL COMMUNICATION, BEWARE OF DAVID SHERMAN IF THATS A REAL NAME, HE ALSO POSTED A PICTURE BELOW HIS SIGNATURE OF A MAN IN A SUIT.

I suppose appraisal is the way to get estimated cost of your domain name. In any case your domain name (names) worth as much as real buyer is ready to pay for them

    Hello!

I'm an official broker of an investor from Milford (UK). He is going to buy your ****-fun.com.

My client has $376,000 budget for 25-30 domains. Please specify your asking price in the subject of your message.

Our company is in hosting business. We also provide brokerage services for domain investors. I'm working with many domain investors. If you have other domains for sale please email me the list. I may offer your domains to my clients.

How can we transfer money to you (escrow, wire, Paypal or Western Union)?

I can also help you with the transfer process.

    Best regards,

    -----------------------------------------------------------

After this every mail from this guy has no signature. They also told me as follows

    -----------------------------------------------------------
I talked to my client. Sedo is not an option. The appraisal service of Sedo does not include the trademark infringement verification. So it's not acceptable in our case.

Moreover, they usually appraise names at 300-400 usd. It's not acceptable for me because my commission upon sale will be very low. So you may pay twice for another appraisal in this case.

We can wait for the certification from domainswanted.net
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

After check the whois of this domain i come to know that the domain is just few days ago registered and the only accept payment via Wire Transfer. So i come to know that it's huge and big scam.

Guys please beware of this kind of Scams.

    Regards
