Thank you for the link, O ancient one! (see avatar)

Avatar reminds me of the ancient one on Babylon 5.

Anyone here remember that character on that show?

People note lack of developed websites on some of the next extensions.. and sometimes rightly so. However, Physician.info (disclosure, my site) continues to advance (slowly but surely) in Google page listing...

In Google search for "physician"... comes up #132 out of of 7 million pages

In Google search for "physician info" ... comes up #1 out of a million pages

    find a physician

You are a genius Bob. There is no other explanation apparent.

I typed in to Google 'find a physician in minnesota' 'find a physician in arizona' 'find a physician in alabama' and you were #1. 'find a physician in wisconsin' had you #2. I am sure Physician.info also ranks 1 or 2 in many other 50-States. Am too tired to check more.

How in the world do you do this? I realize it may be a secret so perhaps you would be so kind to send me a reply via PM instead of a public posting. Thanks.

thanks RealNames... I do not think I am as savvy in website development or placement as many folks here... although maybe I am getting better with age? (at least in this respect )

I just looked up what words people use to search... used them in prominent places and repeatedly in the site...and structured site with separate pages for each state and country... and then did my best to actually provide useful information/links on each... and then submitted to Google and Open Directory... That probably explains the high (#1 or first page) results for individual states. This makes sense to me because health care is generally a local good/service. The overall listing for "physician" term alone is a much tougher nut to crack because there are many WELL-ESTABLISHED sites with which to compete.

I am sure there are folks in this forum with far more experience in search engine placement. Any of you folks wish to share your tips?
