*****Online.COM ...OR... *****.INFO
The age-old question!
Just thought I would see what the current mood is in the domain arena on this issue...
*****Online.COM ...OR... *****.INFO
Which is the better name to promote, and why...?
...Or perhaps some word-addition other than "Online."...?
...And, therefore, which one should be re-directed to the other...?
I'm developing a site which has content and information related to a particular type of commercial product convention. These events occur internationally, and have a reasonably high profile.
The ***** is the generic name for this type of convention and is recognised by people outside the industry.
Apologies for being a bit obscure, but I'm sure you understand that business dictates why...
All opinions are valued, so don't hold back!
Cheers!

IMHO --
Without knowing the SLD this poll makes no sense to me. Just doing another apples and oranges comparison

Depends on how you look at it.
I'm just trying to gauge opinions of the present time.

It sounds like .info could be suited to the area, but keep in mind a percentage of people are going to have trouble understanding the address.

Thanks for replying, ILI and Snoopy!

You may wish to consider the number of other .info sites.
Australia has much lower usage rates than England or Germany.

In Germany for example .biz and .info combined are already over half the size of .org.
Whereas the Australian .info and .biz namespaces combined are only one tenth the size of the Australian .org namespace.

For my two cents... the suffix "online" sounds kind of dated and cumbersome to me... so in this comparison, all other things being equal, I would go with the single term plus .INFO
