Arrow Big .Mobi buyer revealed (music.mobi, games.mobind others)

    Hello,

I am excited to announce that I am acquiring what I believe are the very best domains in the Mobile Content / Marketing / Internet, etccc .. Industry. Here they are:

    GAMES.MOBI
    MOVIES.MOBI
    MUSIC.MOBI
    PHOTOS.MOBI
    SPORTS.MOBI
    VIDEOS.MOBI

I am not planning on developing these names, I am planing on selling these sometime in the near future, because I am focusing in Clics.com.. :-) I am already getting emails with offers, for the group and as single. :-)))

Thank you for your comments !!!

    Alvaro

"Alvaro sure has allot of history in the web hosting industry however seems to be (and I may be wrong here) like a complete new face in the domaining community. It may be Alvaro got in the domain game because of two old friends of mine, domain heavyweight, ex interland, Rick Latona or possibly because of Mat_as de Tezanos, as Alvaro is connected to Matias’ new venture Healthcare.com."

Searching his name in Google comes up with a very interesting set of results:

That is one bucketload of money. I don't think he could just flip them. I have trouble believing this:

"I am already getting emails with offers, for the group and as single."

I mean, people could just have joined the auction if they were interested. The auction was well publicized.

If he's unable to flip the names, the auction terms specified:

    http://mtld.mobi/domain/premium/auction

    - Domain to be registered by auction winner within 10 days of receiving authorization code
    - Site to initially consist of a dotMobi-compliant parking page
    - Best efforts to create, launch and operate a live web site with relevant content within six months. (For example, acupuncture.mobi should not display a site for car sales.)
    - Fully compliant site with an http://ready.mobi score of at least 4/5.

You could easily meet those terms by spending $5k per site for someone to develop them, which I'm sure he can afford plus the development should add value to his investment.

I get the feeling those .mobi guidleines really won't mean a lot I think $50 would be enough to have a compliant site done. (some canned content with a compliant page).

Yeah and the Dot Mobi registry pulling or shutting down the website of a domain they directly sold for $XXX,XXX would *NOT* encourage future sales at those prices.

I don't think those requirements have teeth for such big sales at this point in .MOBI's life.

It will be interesting to see how the "Entrepreneur of Entrepreneurs"' performs in this .mobi gambit.

    music.mobi $616,000
    games.mobi $401,500
    sports.mobi $101,000
    movies.mobi $82,000
    videos.mobi $51,000
    photos.mobi $51,000

That's some heavy money to put down by one person in pure speculation vs an actual development plan for them.

The effect of this persons speculation will certainly have an impact in domainer circles though - maybe there's a hope that this is some kind of self-fulfilling prophecy at play.
When using google for counts - use double quotes for usage counts for multiword terms and set "match type" to "exact" for all search volume lookups. Click here for more info

"I believe he's the lord," said Alvaro Albarracin, 37, a Miami businessman who oversees corporate donations to the church. "I will be thankful to him in as many ways as I can, especially with money, because money is nothing."

but after all the smoke clears,,

there still needs to be a way to make coin from the actual use, even to cover the cost of purchase.once the flipping winds down
what other way is there to make money from using them.

to date has there been any numbers to show of making money from actual use ,,i dont think there has been.
