Microsoft has agreed to buy Skype for more then 8 Billion dollars. Ok, that is one of Microsoft's highest purchase. How it is going to impact consumers? Remember when Microsoft buys any product their goal is to integrate it with existing products.

I would see integration effort in gaming, email, video/audio conference, Window mobile etc.

I think its good news & may be Microsoft will enhance the features of Skype.

could be a way for MS to get big into smart phones, a huge user base in place, they come out with a smart phone that uses skype everywhere, CHA CHING, they take over a huge segment of the video face time market, my estimate of what satan is brewing up

skype is a natural add on for a smart phone network to get built on

google is trying
apple is king
so MS buys skype to offer something the others can't

In next few months Google is going to come up with product which will be counter to Sjype+Webex+Video conference+integrating existing Google docs+more. This is aimed at small business, individuals, cooperation and individual verticals. I think this will be something.
