I reckon Kristian Von Hornsleth makes an unpleasantly valid point about international aid that comes with governmental strings attached.
Sometimes it's an artist's job to hold a mirror up to shock society into taking action.
So, what do you think? Incisive social commentary and direct political action, or self-obsessed narcissism?

I'm inclined to agree with you, with the caveat that externally imposed conditions aren't always bad - for example if they help work around corruption etc to get the aid to the people for whom it's intended. But the artist's point is probably too subtle to be widely accepted, so the whole thing will likely prove counterproductive.
