    Tanking revenue.

Is it just me or is the revenue for today way down for others too?

where we were making $100./day last year, we're now seeing $30./day
I'm hanging in there, moving a few to Sedo and Dotzup, lucking out on a couple decent sales and watching expenses. We're still bullish and optimistic on good quality domains and think future trends will show an up swing.
    hang in there!

Ironically my Adsense revenue has gone up (in terms of RPM) in past months.

Their are stacks of bugs with DSp at the moment, one being:

Foreign keywords appearing on English landers.

I keep raising these issues with them but it's never seen through to a "fix".

I've been asking for 5 years, 2 Domain Fests and many account mgr. requests to have the ability to UpperAndLowerCase my domains ...... good luck getting anywhere with DS for user requested modifications.

I hear you, but what I'm pointing out to them is faults in the system/platform, not cosmetic changes. Faults that would have an impact on their bottom line also.

I would think foreign keywords on English landers would have a major impact on CTR and therefore RPM.

Is that a U.S. trait or specifically a Domain Sponsor structure issue?

dunno. I'm not in the US and don't want to try and figure their traits and system. I'm just saying i think DS should listen and maybe impliment a few suggestions we have made. Here's another example.
Let's say you have "swimwear.com' landing at a Ds page. The initial lander will show sponsored links for swimwear "but" on the second page you'll get a continuation of sponsored links with the sidebar 'Related Searches' showing - mortgage, ringtones, travel etc. etc. nothing to do with swimwear.
Or as another example of a DS glitch ... when you enter your own keywords for a lander, that's all you get. User entered searches will not be added to the suggested links.

Just a couple things I think DS should consider along with native language terms for the ip address of the user.

Good idea - long tail keywords on the second page related to the first page keyword.

I've always observed (in the past) when pre-loaded keywords are saved, that the optimiser doesn't override them.

Another fault at the moment is that the keywords on the lander are not in-sync with what's displayed in pubman or vice versa.

    My rep is rather good.

I think its the owners and/or senior management that should be taking notice.

I'm sure that has been on a lot of DS "publishers" minds.

Any members here moved portfolios away since this?

What I am seeing is a 20% daily RPC variation for Dec. Now , traditionally for DS and PPC, we see a measurable, verifiable increase in traffic and RPC beginning in Sept and that momentum builds into the North American winter, as people stay indoors and online longer. TO see this sharp decline in at the beginning of Dec, as xmas approaches, indicates a couple things and certainly wild speculation on a few other fronts. One thing is clear. The third party PPC system is dying not necessarily a slow death. Be it Google etc,,, or the intermediaries themselves trying to cover, the domian owner with quality traffic is getting the shaft. Now, Google for example, allows advertisers to opt out of domain landers, and that is absolutely their right to do so. That hammers traffic and RPC for sure. But maybe G also is slowly, methodically trying to eliminate the middle man without totally shocking the rev stream. If they can make adsense, or adsense for domains, more profitable for domainers that deal directly with them, we will slowly migrate. The problem is as far as I can tell thier offering is lackluster. In the meantime, DS and the likes are feeling the pinch, and they are powerless on the G side, so what other source can they use to cover the shortfalls? thats pure speculation, and the only thing we know for sure is that it starts with big G and the advertisers and bids. That in turn may have a variety of effects on PPC third party platforms, rev shares etc. Nobody is auditing them, nobody is looking out for the domainers. A lot of this has happened because of click fraud, typos, tasting etc... We are all paying for that. And dont forget that combined with the economic situation, and this is our disaster. Im not going to accuse DS of screwing anybody on the ppc side of things, it just looks bad and we all want somebody to blame. I will accuse them of dropping the ball on several fronts, and I will go out on a limb and tell you, I believe their model is in danger of becoming a thing of the past. People want verifable ROI, CPA in this economy, not just paying for visits that dont sell. Its been a great decade, but a new one is starting in a few weeks, and we need a rebirth, innovation, for our "quality" traffic. That traffic is still valuable, always will be, but it is being punished for the sins of a system with no accountability, greed, over speculation, fraud, and who knows what else. You can not finger the blame to any one source. It is that combination of many factors that brought us here. DS has been great for the last 7 to 8 years, for me anyways, but I have a feeling I will be delivering my visitors elsewhere in other ways in the coming years. Let me put it another way. DS has made me lazy, and now I have to go back to work. Probably a good thing in the long run.
