    domainsponsor 3.0

a few days ago i was upgraded (downgraded) to domainsponsor 3.0

i noticed the change on the addressbar when checking the daily stat.

    upgraded (downgraded) accounts show :

    http://stats.domainsponsor.com/ds3co...ats_detail.mas

please note the 3dcompined which indicates the change.

so domainers who got the "upgrade" would you kindly post your experiences with v3.0 here.

here is my experience so far 3 days and counting :

1)revenue went down during the weekend and never recovered after the weekend.

2)the only improvement i can see on the status is that it is steady (downwards).

3)revenue overall down from even the worst month (april)

4)still , clicks that pay nothing (major issue that i complained months back)

    5) evenso i moved over 700 names away from DS 2 days ago (all those did not do well at DS - so i had very little too loose trying our another service) the visits are close to the same ,the revenue per 1000 visitors went down (it should be just the opposite over the last 2 days) Revenue per click takes a massive dive today and is really bad the last 4 -5 days . CTR stayed the same evenso it should have gone up the last 2 days.

how are your portfolio doing as each domainer has different names that perform different .

Thanks Wolf for the "3dcompined which indicates the change." I can see from my admin panel I'm on the new 3.0 "up grade". It's too early to tell but looks like my daily rev. has dropped. (I don't like to jump on the band wagon and start complaining with only 2-3 days stats. I'll wait a week and watch the trend)

Heather- any comment from you on wazz up??

I've noticed a drop in visitors in the last 2-3 days of 10%, I've sent an email to the support for checking this problem. (before the traffic was stable, traffic from 500+ domains).

This is my first day over, so hard to know for sure if/how the stats are lagged. As of this moment, traffic and rpc (and hence rpm and revenue) are lower than normal for me at this time. ctr is up - which makes sense with faster loading pages.
When using google for counts - use double quotes for usage counts for multiword terms and set "match type" to "exact" for all search volume lookups. Click here for more info

I have been involved in early stage testing of DS 3.0 and had extensive discussions with DS about the results. Important to keep in mind is that they now have slightly different rules for counting visitors, clicks etc. so it's difficult to base any conclusions on those. What you really should look at is the total revenue. Using previous weeks' data I have made some predicitons about my expected revenue, and on average I now score a few % above these predictions.

When you say "slightly different rules" I assume you mean more strict. That is fine if it results in more confidence in the system for advertisers which should translate into higher bid value for publishers with quality traffic. I guess we'll see.

Also, your "predictions" were for lower or higher revenue under DS 3.0?

I can see stats for the new 3.0 version of DS don't update as often as the old system.

Heather- any comments from you as to wazz-up??

strange, my stats are updating constantly throughout the day - even refreshes within a couple of minutes show changes. its just the figures are low compared to normal at this time - but as I said, its not a full day yet so hard to know if they've changed the time window etc to make a useful comparison.

I'll jump on the bandwagon with half a days stats, which are supposed to update regularly with 3.0 if you recall. Just got home from work, today is my first day on 3.0. and am not a happy camper from what I am looking at. I hope to God that the stats are running behind, or it's 3.0 strikes and your out. Call me a whiner or whatever, I dont really care. Some issues need to be addressed and if we are all going to take a hit then we might as well spend the money on a private script/site and pool our traffic, get our own deal, and forget about giving half of our traffic revenue to a third party. I dont understand why google needs 750k page visits anyway? To me , that equates to about $45,000 per month (unshared), based on my own numbers and traffic. I dont mind putting up a few thousand dollars to build a private traffic website and get our own deal. I love domain sponsor, but when a company tells you one thing and you get totally the opposite, you have to really look for alternatives. Hands down, they have been the best solution for many of us, and they deserve a little more time. It would be silly to move in the middle of the month anyway, and a holiday weekend is near, which Im sure will be a horrific finish to may as far as ppc goes. If the rules for counting are going to change, and this results in a substantial decrease in revenue, well, thats not a positive occurance no matter how you look at it. Whining, bickering, bitching or whatever you want to call it, if thats what it takes to get thier attention, even in a public forum, then thats what it takes. If the almighty 3.0 results in even one day of substantially decreased revenue at the onset, then all that hype, all that anticipation of 3.0, the whole build up, is open for public criticism. Stats just updated at 5:00pm central US, and I have just reached my normal 2 pm plateau. Needles to say, I am not impressed so far. If anybody has noticed a substantial increase in revenue and traffic with new 3.0, without adding to your portfolio, by all means post your experience here and support domainsponsor. Seriously, we need to know if anybody is benefitting from the change. Maybe there is a problem.

Guys, here’s a status update on the DS 3.0 rollout.

Credits: We recently experienced a bug during the continuing roll-out which affected some of you for a short time yesterday (5/24) and this morning (5/25). We are in the process of resolving this bug, but wanted to let you know that as always, a full credit will be issued for the downtime you experienced.

Stats Updates for Today, 5/25: Please note that your daily stats will update more slowly today due to data migration to the new system.

Where did you find that announcement? I don't see it on DS site.

I know I was affected yesterday and also I don't think DS 3.0 shows hourly updates as of yet.

    Thanks.

    Dear Publisher,

We wanted to give you a status report on all of the things that have been happening with DomainSponsor 3.0.

Roll-out: We are happy to announce that you have recently been moved over to the new 3.0 product. We are currently in the process of rolling everyone else over to the new system within the next week.

Miscellaneous Revenue: We are excited to let you know about the new Miscellaneous Revenue section of your publisher stats. With the launch of DomainSponsor 3.0, we have upgraded the Referral Revenue section of your earnings. Now, you will see a new section titled "Miscellaneous Revenue." This new section will still show your Referral Revenue, however, there will be a new column that will show any Credits that you may receive. Credits will no longer be added to your Total Revenue, instead, you will see the amount of your credits in the credits column. Therefore, to calculate your Total Revenue for that specific day, make sure you add any credits that you receive to the total revenue listed in your stats report.

Thank you once again for your continuing patience during this roll-out. As always, our customer support specialists and your account managers are here to answer any additional questions you may have.

    Sincerely,

    DomainSponsor Team
