The U.S. is requiring (starting in Jan. 07) citizens traveling to/from Mexico, Canada and Caribbean to have a passport upon returning to the US. Sadly, in the US,only 20% of the population even has a passport (our Aussie, Kiwi and Euro readers will find this shocking.)

Expect those with travel plans in the months ahead to be rushing to apply for their passport-web searches for "US Passports" and " US Passports" on Google have been growing.
