Sedo running final tests on keyword optimizaion
Sedouk, I hope you dont mind me carrying over your post from end of my link, I am sure there are many that would like to hear this
(Hi Guys. An update on the self optimization:
We have a prototype which we are runnning through some final tests to iron out any creases, but we hope to get this online within the next few weeks, maybe sooner.))

I would prefer to hear that they have a better way of catching clicks and updating rather than this erratic updating system. Whenever stats stop updating for a few hours they *always* come in with lower results that when the stats update hourly regardless of the claims that no clicks are lost.
Sedo are very good and their employees a friendly bunch yet when one person's revenue goes down - so does everyone's. This is not just a case of luck of the draw, there are still many serious issues at sedo.
Self optimisation would be the icing on the cake but more important to me is seeing my earnings stabilised and regular.
I have monitored updates every hour for the past month (ie the whole of April) and it is very apparent from the figures when things are running properly (earnings are only ever down more than 25% when sedo stops updating properly). If SedoCoUk member is interested I can furnish him with the full months hours and updates and the flaws are glaringly obvious.

i think it is a good thing, but can easily be exploited
i hope sedo has some checks in place, i.e. the highest paying keywords, cannot be automatically selected,. they must be manually approved.
otherwise, all the crap traffic, and unrelated domains will choose high paying best keywords,. in the near future this might turn into a farce, or have bad consequences for those who actually have genuine domains/ traffic for those keywords.
example, insurance. imagine it pays 1 euro a click. if everyone with crap domains chooses this keyword, even the click rate low, it could negatively, affect those with real insurance domains later. perhaps google receives complaints about poor quality traffic or sedo temporarily cancels all insurance keywords because of complaints etc.
the best solution would be to allow self optimising, on normal keywords at the 0.10 range movies, pets etc, but anything that could be exploited should use the old system where u request the keyword and if approved those links are listed
-
finally sedo going to introduce the self managed keyword. every month 30% of my domain's keyword will change. and i have to always email them to change back the domain...it is very tedious.
hm... why crap domains using high rate keyword not good? if the traffic is wrong, there will not be click thru so they are wasting their traffic.
if there are click thru from the crap traffic domain, probably the visitor are also interested in the ad, so they consider potential lead, which is targeted.
eg. if a visitor purely want to look more into adult stuff, why would they click a business ad unless they also interested in the business which makes them targetted.

u might get some clicks but they are not usually commited . i.e they wont be high quality and might exit the site early
there is a reason why most ppc companies wont let you choose unrelated high paying keywords for any domain you want.
most have a manual screening process, includnig fabulous etc.
if you have 1000 visitors a day to one of your unrelated domains and you put poker links at $4 a click,. sure you will get some confused newbies clicking who are not interested. but will they actually do anything on the poker website, or sign up ? doubtful. most would probably quit the site after a few seconds.
your making money but, the advertiser is losing money and the ppc engine losing credibility.
that is the reason, top keywords should be screened.
