According to British research firm Trendstream’s Global Web Index, Google+ is now the 2nd largest social network, passing Twitter.

Here are the ranking according to Trendstream:

1.* Facebook: 693 million monthly users, 51% of all internet users

2.* Google+: 343 million monthly users, 25% of all internet users

3.* Twitter: 288 million monthly users, 21% of all internet users

4.* YouTube: 280 million monthly users, 21% of all internet users

What the report doesn’t take into account is the level of engagement.

While TheDomains.com maintains an account at Twitter, Facebook.com and Google + we are engaged much more on Facebook and Twitter, however Google + maybe the most important as Google has promised that Google+ profiles will factor more in search rankings over time, and over the last couple a months already Google + accounts are placing picture on the new feed of the authors of certain publications.
