    Warning: No adult names.

    Enough is enough.

Too many members are ignoring the site rules about posting adult names outside of the adult forum.

Not only new members to the site ignore the rule but veteran domainstaters too. Apart from being in the site rules, there is a red highlighted warning not to post adult names in sales threads when a new thread is created. It is so prominent that I believe people are simply ignoring the warning knowing that for at least a short time their thread/s will get exposure in the main sales forums until a mod sees the thread and moves it to the adult forum.

From now on threads containing adult names posted anywhere other than the adult forum will be removed and all names posted in the thread will not be allowed to be re-posted for a period of 30 days.

I think 6 years latitude is enough.

Those that somehow make a genuine mistake can thank those that have ignored the rule, sometimes more than once, for the clamp down and this mod a least, for getting tired of having to move the threads.

    You have been warned.

Feel free to comment on this thread.

Not saying that I would do it (I won't), but 30-days sounds harsh for a first-offense, especially for a newbie.

    How about a 3-strikes rule?

    5 days first-offense
    20 days 2nd
    100 days 3rd

And any appeals routes for the well-intentioned but truely clueless? I guess they would have to somehow prove that they really are blind or have low IQ? I dunno, just throwing it out there.

newbie or not, it is about as clear as it can be at the point of them making the actual post.
When using google for counts - use double quotes for usage counts for multiword terms and set "match type" to "exact" for all search volume lookups. Click here for more info

There has been some detailed discussion here http://domainstate.com/showthread.ph...threadid=93712

Do you agree we have put in as many measures as possible to safeguard members from being penalised?

You got a point, it does take admin resources to deal with this kind of stuff. But, even well-intentioned ppl can overlook something once in a while, maybe if they are in a hurry. How about making the first offense something less than 30 days -- i think that's a little too long it may have the unintended effect of driving ppl away from the site especially if it was more-or-less an innocent mistake. How about something like 15-days for first offense and something heavier thereafter? As an alternative to the 15-day maybe give the option of paying $1-2 (paypal anyone?) to get off the first one?

if misposting an adult name gets the domain banned for a month and that is enough reason for them to leave domainstate.... i say good riddance. seriously, they should probably leave now and save us all some time.
