    Question HomeTurf.com--online 6 years--almost 5000 total links.

This is not my name--but we know the owner. He recently put the name on sale--and I told him we would see what people thought about it. It is currently a wav file site offering downloads and such. It could be used for a lot of different purposes--especially sports related.

Please give some feedback so I can help him target in on a asking price. He already has one in mind--but I want to see what you guys think about it--so I can tell him if he is realistic or not.

I guess it depends on what kind of traffic the site is pulling, though it seems to be a lot of topsites traffic? I would imagine the traffic would fall fast once the site is pulled though really that kind of traffic doesn't have much value anyway. Maybe the domain itself is worth $500.

just noticed the traffic link on his auction, the stats look screwed up to me,

Except for September there is only data for the last couple of days of each month.

Putting the traffic issues aside, a quick search on google shows the term "home turf" is quite widely used in a commercial sense and returns a page count of just under 54,000.

If approached for the name, it would not be unrealistic to be asking for $2k-$5k end user based on the vanity element alone imo.
When using google for counts - use double quotes for usage counts for multiword terms and set "match type" to "exact" for all search volume lookups. Click here for more info

How can you explain the MASSIVE uptick in stats in September. Seems a wee bit fishy ...

the stats are not accurate, some months only seem to have a day or two's data, whilst september seems to have data for every day.

That's because people want to buy turfs in September

Seriously. My domain timechange.com gets 1 million hits in 3 days, twice a year. Figure out why? http://timechange.com/dls/
