nicehotellist.com and other auto-generated hotel sites

I've written software that can auto-generate hotel sites via booking.com in about 10 minutes. Would appreciate feedback on layout etc. Traffic slowly increasing as more pages get indexed.

Looks good to me - most hotel type websites look a lot like that.

I think you should add in some unique content - perhaps allow users to add reviews, search and replace various terms, etc.

Thanks guys for the input. TC I only have to change a parameter to get a website for a different city but there is no option in the structure for that. I will work upwards to create a country site which can be broken down into it's cities. Atlas I agree with the review idea - unfortunately this is one part of the booking.com system that they don't make available to their affiliates so will have to write my own.

    Hey Rob,

I can provide the first review on the Radisson SAS Hotel on the Promenade Des Anglais. Nice hotel, great roof pool. I guess its proximity to the airport may just have been the reason it was absolutely heaving with hookers!

thanks Duncan. So until the hookers it was an 8 out of 10 but then became a 10?

    Nice work!

Seems you have a problem with accented characters on nicehotellist.com

French for hotel is hôtel and the o is missing due to the special character.

    For instance on http://www.nicehotellist.com/en/view...l-Windsor.html

I can provide a good str_replace for accented characters if it can help

Thanks for the heads up. That's to do with booking .com providing all the data in utf-8 format and converting to iso. Will sort it out.

Just have to say that in nearly 2 months this site has now generated about 500 euros worth of income. I have also set up about 50 other sites all doing the same from scratch. I even registered a terrible domain in an appalling extension (as an experiment) and it made about 10 year's worth of reg fee in the first 2 months. Looks like I have to apologise to bidawinner and re-evaluate my own appraisals and developed site feedback. I am interested in converting UTF_8 (booking.com default text supply) into anything else though. Can't even get it onto my linux server without it being thrown out. Opinion and help appreciated.

That's a pretty good income for 2 months... Was it just on Malta.com that you linked the sites, or elsewhere? I'm tempted to get to work on my hotel.org.uk domain...

That particular one and a handful of others were only linked from malta.com. However today I had a signup from one not listed there which I set up on the 8th August worth 30 euros. Apart from malta.com and a couple of paid links (trying it out) for a madrid site none have had any other advertising (free or paid) and I've been relying purely on SEO. It appears now that almost 50% of my experimental batch are earning purely from google and yahoo listings for certain keywords - again no advertising. Maybe there's a niche for geo domains that need an actual service-providing site thrown up around the domain. It's all very interesting anyway

Pictures at top are bigger than I would use, taking up too much valuable room.

I don't think 200 pixels is a lot to lose considering that, outside of the actual hotel photos, there are no other images. I feel it gives the sites a more friendly feel. I guess it's all a matter of personal taste as previously I was using small images with banner ads overlapping and I haven't noticed any difference in viewing habits.
