    Airline update

I am cleaning up the home page on Airlines .ws and am adding a drop down box for all the Airlines and other links.

The red row with the drop down boxes is a front page include , I debated with myself whether to do it that way or not ..

    Yes Or No ?

The reddish color scheme .. looks nice or not ?

    Thanks

Your header/logo is quite good, but the rest of the site-looks need improving. The font you used is (imo) not the most attractive, most sites seem to use a sans-serif font these days. The links, and some of the writing, down the side bars do not have enough contrast (grey/black on dark blue).

As for the drop down boxes, I think your site would benefit from using a more traditional directory style interface, or perhaps replace the drop down select boxes with a dynamic html pull-down menu.

You should also make the rest of the pages use the same template/look-and-feel to the front page, but you probably already know this.

All this is based on my personal opinion, hopefully you will get more feedback from others.

    Thanks core..

I'm testing the light gren on the links ..not enough contrast as you say..I had a burnt orange on it nice contrast but just trying other color schemes.

I normally dont use drop down boxes at all...for the longest time alot of users had no idea how to use a drop down menu..so it's another test .

I wantt to stay away from the traditional look..simply becuase everyone else uses it..plus I have some theories on SE rank using the traditional directory layout.

You dont like Times New Roman ? I like the spacing..makes easier reading imo but I'll certainly try a sans-serif again .

    Thanks again

Didn't take long to implement them changes, looking better already.

Make sure you test your pages in the Firefox browser, its a small download from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ - your bullet points look bad under 10 Largest Airlines with firefox.

I think your site it looking good. I look forward to being able to develop as proficiently as you. I just downloaded Firefox a month ago, and I must say it is the best browser I have ever used. I use the others to check compatibility but Firefox will remain my default browser till the next version comes out. Also comes with cool add ons and extensions, developer tools, etc. BTW like I said I use Firefox and just went to your site. It looks great to me, so no obvious Firefox issues that I saw.

Just had a quick look... Typo: "Hawaiian Airline's" should not have an apostrophe. I can see that it's just a typo (and not a conscious spelling error) from the rest of your text.

For those who skipped that English lesson: The apostrophe in this particular case would indicate ownership of something. eg: "The Hawaiian Airline's food."

Also, perhaps you could link the text "Australian Airlines" in your menu to a list of the airlines in Australia.
