The main window does flicker. And also when another window of the program is above it, then the latter flickers too.

My graphics card is an ATI All in wonder with 32MB and a radeon chip. It has been really steady for the past couple of years.

I will try it at home and let you know if I see the same thing.

Ok, so I guess one machine is using an Intel card and one machine is using the ATI card?

    Are both using WinXP PRO?

Are the cards AGP cards or PCI cards?

    Thanks!

Ok, now I'm screwed as your machine 2 is fairly similar to a system I have now.

    I think I've duplicated the problem -- I hope!

I swapped out the video card on the P2 and tried some old ISA cards. A 16 bit ISA card caused the display to run in interlaced mode and DomainWatchDog windows flashed. I tried an 8 bit (!) ISA card and everything was fine, everything was rock solid in fact!

So, can you please run your monitor's "Video Signal" display and tell me exactly what it says? I'd like to confirm your display(s) is also running in interlaced mode as well. Note your display probably will not say "interlaced" or "non-interlaced" so please give me the frequencies, and any other info it gives you, and I should be able to determine from those numbers if your display is in interlaced mode

    Thanks!

I have not heard back from you however I was able to duplicate the problem on an embedded system I'm currently working on for another project and this "very slow" system also exhibited the flashing. I seem to have eliminated the flashing and the changes I made did make some sense but again appear to be display driver related.

When you have a chance, and it becomes available later this evening (I guess tomorrow morning your time) please download the newest version of DomainWatchDog(TM) and see if the problem has been eiliminated. The version you want to try is version 0.9.191 or later.

    Thanks!

Next up is the NT fix for hanogl and other NT users.

    hanogl,

DomainWatchDog(TM) should now run on NT! In fact it should now do as I said and run on Windows 98 First Edition though XP.

I ripped out all the code related to that error and completely changed the algorithm for you and everyone else using any NT version.

If you still have problems *PLEASE* let me know.

Same comment to you as well: The version you want to try is version 0.9.191 or later which I'll be making available later this evening.

    Thanks!

Just to keep from leaving things hanging in this thread:

Both hanogl and dvdrip have reported that each of their problems have been corrected with the release of DomainWatchDog(TM) Beta Release 5 (= application version number 0.9.191).

    Thanks for your help!

Hi like, does DWD monitor .co.uk? My WMD pro is dead as a doornail on that extension.

DWD has *NO* limits to web site monitoring or DNS monitoring. As for Whois, DWD is currently "limited" to the 174 TLDs (including various 3rd level domain offerings) I have setup in the whois server table. Yes .CO.UK is included.

You want to go easy on .CO.UK test time of course since that server will ban you for too frequent use (over 1000 requests per day). You can set the test time from every 5 minutes to every 999 days, and the test time can be different for each and every domain.

Oh, and if you find *ANY* TLDs, or even third level domains, that have a server and are not included/supported in DomainWatchDog(TM) then just post it and I'll stick it in the table for you in about 5 minutes and release an update for you! And that goes for everyone else of course.

It also has a builtin/integrated Universal Whos tool called BetterWhois(TM) so you'll never have to deal with any other Whois search tool again. And it does a lot more than just Whois lookups.

    Thanks!
